Next to Normal
Next to Normal
Next to Normal, winner of three 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize, explores how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness.
Dad’s an architect; Mom rushes to pack lunches and pour cereal; their daughter and son
are bright, wise-cracking teens, appearing to be a typical family. And yet, the mother has been battling manic depression for 16 years.
Next to Normal takes audiences into the minds and hearts of each character, presenting their family’s story with love, sympathy and heart. This deeply moving piece of theatre is an emotional powerhouse that addresses such issues as grieving a loss, ethics in modern psychiatry, and suburban life.

CMHA Saskatoon Branch was honoured to receive a donation of over $25,000 from Jade’s Ride for Mental Health yesterday. We cannot express the amount of gratitude we have for individuals such as Jade and her team. Without community involvement, CMHA would not be what it is. Thank you so much Jade, and everyone else who has been involved in this journey.

Jade’s Story
Jade Dulle is an active member of Saskatoon, enjoying canoeing, cycling, camping and performing in theatre and music. Jade is passionate about helping others and creating a positive impact within her community.
A few years ago, Jade experienced symptoms of a mental illness. After attempting to go through the mental health system, she received minimal help.
With an abundance of people going through the system themselves; there were long wait-lists and lacking resources.
Jade took her healing process upon herself by reading self-help books, exercising and using her community as an outlet.
A long healing process began; Jade now has a network of professionals giving her tools and skills to handle her symptoms. With experience and passion behind her, Jade would like to make a difference with “Jade’s Ride for Mental Health.”
CMHA Saskatoon Branch is very proud of Jade and her efforts to shine light on mental health in the province of Saskatchewan. We would like to thank Jade and her team for her donation and hard work!!
